This guide will walk you through the process of purchasing a phone number. You will learn how to access the settings, navigate to the SMS section, search for and select a phone number, provide the necessary details, and enable SMS functionality.


1. Click "Settings"

Click on Settings on the main menu.


2. Click "SMS"

Navigate to the SMS section on the submenu.


3. Click "Buy a Number"

Select the option to purchase a new phone number.


4. Fill "Your Area Code or 800"

Enter the desired area code or one eight hundred prefix. Currently we only support phone numbers in the United States and Canada. If you need an international number, you can alternatively connect a Twilio account.


5. Click "Search"

Search for available phone numbers with the specified criteria. If no numbers show up, then there are none available with the entered area code.


6. Select The Number You Like

You can scroll to choose an available number. When you find one, select it by clicking on the circle next to it.


7. Give The Number A Name For Your Reference

Enter a name for the phone number. This is only for identification purposes in the system and for your reference. It is recommended that you include the name of the person to whom the number is assigned, followed by the actual phone number. This will make it easier to identify it later.


8. Fill "Your Caller ID Name"

Enter the desired Caller ID name for this phone number. It is recommended to put the company name here.


9. Click "Order"

Confirm and place the order for the phone number. You will be charged the price listed in the far right column next to the number on a monthly basis.


10. Click "SMS"

To enable SMS, click the SMS in the submenu to return to the main phone screen. Depending on your subscription, this may also be found by clicking on the Phone in the main menu.


11. Click "Enable SMS" To Begin Registration

If you want to use SMS with your phone number, click Enable SMS functionality for the purchased phone number. You will be prompted to register your company for compliance. This process is handled by a 3rd party in charge of all SMS compliance in the United States.
